About ASECAP Days

The 44th annual ASECAP Study and Information Days explored the key role of the toll motorways in ensuring an integrated and sustainable mobility in Europe. The event offered the opportunity to reflect on the EU integrated transport approach and, more specifically, on how to meet the challenges towards the EU 2020 Strategy. It also looked into the future of transport from the current international perspective.

The ASECAP Days were the occasion for high-level panellists representing toll road infrastructure operators, as well as other modes of transport, and EU policy makers to discuss sustainability issues related to infrastructure financing, operation, maintenance, safety and the environment, while considering how Intelligent Transport Systems contribute to the achievement of the goals set.

The two-day discussions were marked by technical and political sessions with key information and Q & A about subjects falling under the responsibility of ASECAP’s different Permanent Committees (COPERs) affecting infrastructure financing, safe movement and smart mobility.

A session was specifically devoted to delivering the final results of the REETS project (the sole pan-European project on regional tolling interoperability funded by the European Commission) led by ASECAP. Furthermore, the REETS and EETS stakeholders debated on the future of a pan-European interoperable electronic toll system based upon the REETS legacy.

Finally, a session on innovative marketing activities of toll motorway operators was held during which national cases focusing on best practices and added value services for the customers were brought into the spotlight.
